Lowrey students will bring to life the adventures of everyone’s favorite ogre, Shrek, his wisecracking donkey and a feisty princess when they present Shrek The Musical Jr. on stage Thursday, May 11 and Friday, May 12 at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $5 at the school’s box office beginning at 5:30 p.m. prior to each performance.

Part romance and part twisted fairy tale, Shrek Jr. is an irreverently fun show with a powerful message for the whole family. In the story, told through songs and entertaining dialogue, Shrek the ogre leads a cast of fairytale misfits on an adventure to rescue a princess and find true acceptance. The play is based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film and popular Broadway musical.
The Lowrey cast of Shrek Jr. includes 25 students in grades 4-8.
The role of Shrek will be performed by 6th Grade student Hadi Mhanna. Princess Fionna will be played by Amal Taher, 7th grade; Nour Nassar, 7th grade; and Zeina Nassar, 4th grade. The role of Donkey is played by 7th grade students Alfadel Alkatumi and Mohamad Hamid. Lord Farquad is played by Muhamed Binlam, 6th grade. The Story Tellers are 6th grade students Noor Mezahi and Rumaysa Saleh and 7th grade student Aya Channir.
Adults involved with the performance are Ashley Solomon, Director; Jennifer Pegouske, Music; Bridget Leary, Choreography; and Nathan Dobert, Lights/Sound.
