We designed a device, which aids in the advancement of deaf and mute communication. Our device will be used by any person, who either went mute, or deaf part way through their life, or anyone who knows how to create the necessary sounds, but can't physically create the sounds. Our device uses mini-electrode implants to monitor the movements of the facial muscles. The device would then use pattern recognition software to coordinate the sensed movements with the letters, sounds, or words they would create. It then amplifies then words, or sounds through a speaker built into the device. This device makes communication less burdensome for deaf and mute people. They no longer would be need of a third party translator to communicate with the public, there for advancing the communication means of deaf, and mute peoples.
