Problem Statement:

Hearing loss has become a very big issue. It changes the rest of your life and is very expensive to get proper care for. Teens crank up the volume on the MP3 Players to block out all other noise, or to help them relax. What these teens or even adults don’t know is that when they reach old age they are going to suffer severely from hearing loss. Hearing loss is not fun to deal with and could get irritating. You will have to keep asking “what?” or “who?” When we think of hearing loss we think of elderly people, but the truth is many mid-aged adults are already starting to suffer.

 

Solution Statement:

Our group has come up with headphones that are ear friendly. It only lets you listen to your MP3 Player for a certain period of time based on the volume level. Once the time limit is up the MP3 will turn off and will not be able to turn back on until your ears are given the appropriate time to heal (preferably a day). This way teens and adults have a smaller chance of suffering from hearing loss.
