Track 10 Special Education: all levels - June 20, 21, 22, and 23 Tuesday through Friday.
Are you a Teacher Consultant who is interested in learning how to help teachers design instructional materials and support students in their general education classrooms? Are you a Resource Teacher who would like to provide better support to students with a wide range of ability?
Enter Universal Design.
In terms of learning, universal design means the design of instructional materials and activities that makes the learning goals achievable by individuals with wide differences in their abilities to see, hear, speak, move, read, write, understand English, attend, organize, engage, and remember. Alternatives are built into the instructional design and operating systems of educational materials. They are not accommodations that are added after-the-fact.
Supporting students requires that they have access to the technology available in the district. Apple provides technology tools to create the best environment for all students and faculty, regardless of their needs. Features of the operating system include built-in text-to-speech synthesis, speech recognition, screen zooming, and sticky keys, as well as a fully integrated screen reader technology called VoiceOver.
Join us Tuesday, June 20 through Friday, June23 when Apple will present a hands-on technology camp designed for special educators. Learn how Apple technology can help you to address the needs of all students.
