FAQ's

New Zangle Upgrade

What browswer should I use?
• PC users - School or at home use Internet Explorer as usual or Firefox.
• Mac users - Switch from Internet Explorer to Safari as your Internet browser. If Safari (blue compass icon) isn’t on your dock - you can find it in the hard drive / applications folder Drag the icon to your dock for the future. You can also bookmark the Zangle page or drag it to your desktop.
• Either platform: Firefox works in either Mac or PC. Free dowload at:
http://www.getfirefox.com

What’s the URL From Home?

Teachers must now log into Zangle from the Secure Staff Login Page
https://staffvpn.dearborn.k12.mi.us/webvpn.html

Is there any way to bypass the splash screen so I can save a click?

No, not at this time

I have problems logging in.
• Click on the Logon Help link on the district Zangle page.

How do I switch Tracks without logging back in?
• Click on Menu in the upper right hand corner.
• Click on File to Switch School / Track

What do those folder icons stand for?
• Mouse over (but don’t click) on the icon. A label will open to
tell you what it is. Or just click on menu for links without icons.

When I click "Reports", nothing happens.
Your browser is blocking this as a "pop-up".  Find the yellow bar that says "pop up blocked", right click on it and chose "always allow popups from dearborn.k12.mi.us" and it will work from now on.

How can I see previously entered grades?

Teachers can switch between two views:
Today's grades “ON” or prior grades “AS OF”.
Choosing the second option allows the view of previously entered grades.

Standards Based Report Card

In order to successfully use the new version of ZANGLE standards and benchmarks grading you will need to use the internet browser “Firefox” instead of Internet Explorer or Safari.  This usually clears up the issues concerning columns and rows not aligning.

1.      To download a version of Firefox that will work on your teacher station APPLE computer click on the following link:

GetFirefox.com  http://www.getfirefox.com/

2.      Click the download link.

3.      If it asks you to save or open tell it to “open” the program.

4.      You will need to either import your links from Internet Explorer (it will ask you) or you will have to retype your favorite links as you need/use them.

Please call the Help Desk   73003 if you have problems.
